Am I better of finding a host family being unmarried?

Dear au pair,

This depends on your personal circumstances and the ones of the host family. Simply think of the tighter bounds you have to your home country where you've left your partner when being married.

And think of the aspect that the host family is looking for an au pair where they can trust that he / she is staying with them for the agreed period of time. With being married the host family might suggest that the chances increase the au pair leaving the host family ahead of time due to some personal incidents that might occur with his / her partner back home.

Still  - it is a question hard to answer.
