Can a Kenyan Au pair in China?

I've discussed this topic quite some time ago with James from one of our Chinese partner agencies (see our blog for an interview with him about au pairing in China), as I thought that Africans would be the perfect au pairs for Chinese families: Many Africans are fluent in English, and this is what most Chinese families look for, as many of them want their au pair to teach their kids English.

James agreed in general, but said that it was incredibly difficult to get a visa for Africans going to China... 

Therefore I've researched a little bit and found e.g. the China Africa Project or the China Africa Friendship Association - in my opinion au pairing would fit perfectly to these initiatives, but I have to admit that I didn't find time so far to follow up on this and get in contact with them.

I'd suggest you get in touch with one (or all) of our Chinese partner agencies (filter for China) and check with them if they can help you find a host family in China and get the necessary visa for it!

I cross my fingers for you, that you soon find a matching host family!
